About the Conference

The annual meeting of the DECHEMA/VDI-Group Extraction offers participants from industry and academia the chance to share and discuss current topics in everything extraction. A diverse range of topics ensures that all conference attendees gain valuable knowledge from the event. Discussions with the contributors enhance understanding of the multifaceted field of extraction and can help to establish new contacts. The conference will be held in english.

Main topics are:

• Fundamental phenomena of solvent extraction such as mass transfer, coalescence, interfacial effects, fluid dynamics, phase separation, etc.,
• New solvents and phase equilibria,
• Reactive extraction and new extractants,
• Equipment design and scale-up with e.g., simulation methods, population balances or CFD,
• Applications in chemistry, pharmacy, and biotechnology,
• Recovery of metals and other recyclable materials (circular economy),
• Process innovations and special techniques such as membrane extraction or liquid-liquid chromatography,
• Examples of monitoring, sensor technology, digitalization, and machine learning.
