Invitation

We invite you to the annual meeting of DECHEMA's expert group Extraction in Aachen!
Throughout this two-day event, you will participate in insightful discussions and presentations on the latest advances in universities, research institutions and industrial enterprises. Wide-ranging and diverse topics on different scales await you: from fundamental phenomena and solvent systems over entire unit operations and processes to numerical methods for modelling and control.

Submissions

The conference will be held in english. Contributions in the form of presentations or posters can be submitted on all topics related to liquid-liquid extraction and phase separation. New work that has not yet been completed, has recently been started or is in the planning stage is also welcome. Main topics are:

• Fundamental phenomena of solvent extraction such as mass transfer, coalescence, interfacial effects, fluid dynamics, phase separation, etc.,
• New solvents and phase equilibria,
• Reactive extraction and new extractants,
• Equipment design and scale-up with e.g., simulation methods, population balances or CFD,
• Applications in chemistry, pharmacy, and biotechnology,
• Recovery of metals and other recyclable materials (circular economy),
• Process innovations and special techniques such as membrane extraction or liquid-liquid chromatography,
• Examples of monitoring, sensor technology, digitalization, and machine learning.

For submission of the abstracts, please use the portal of the DECHEMA! We ask you to submit the abstract by November 15, 2024.

Registration

For the registration, please download and fill out the registration form and send it to Jahrestreffen-FVT@avt.rwth-aachen.de. Please submit the form by the 31^st of January 2025. The number of participants is limited; First come, first served.

Place

The annual meeting of the DECHEMA/VDI group Extraction 2025 will take place in Aachen in the rooms of the Aachener Verfahrenstechnik (NGP²) at Forckenbeckstraße 51, 52064 Aachen. Hotel rooms can be booked at the Mercure Hotel Aachen am Dom with the Code "Fluidverfahrenstechnik".
